Quality Inn Cedar Rapids South

We stay here fairly regularly for business weekends. The rates are reasonable, the rooms are in good repair, and the location works really well for where we do business. It's adequate for what we need, and having an elevator is a bonus no matter which floor you're on. Breakfast is very sparse, though, and they really need to replace the luggage carts.

The front office young man, Se Vonte, made us feel very welcome. We were impressed by how friendly he was and how much he knew about places to eat nearby. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast suited us perfectly. We had a great stay.

The breakfast wasn't bad, which is why I gave one star instead of zero. We couldn't get into one of our rooms, and the replacement key didn't work either. The phone in our other room wasn't connected, so we went back down. The worker came upstairs with a manual key, swearing the whole way, and that key didn't work either. They called my wife a “soft white girl,” then called the boss, who didn't answer. We ended up moving two rooms of people into one. There aren't any pack and plays here, so our one-year-old had to sleep in bed with us. We were also out of toilet paper and had only two towels.

I'm a truck driver, and my student and I needed a hotel while the truck was being repaired. The location was convenient, surrounded by places to order food delivery. I didn't try the breakfast, and I'm glad I didn't spend my money here. The room and toilet were outdated. The bed and bedding were cool, and my student nearly flooded the toilet because the lever wasn't held down long enough to flush it fully. The shower curtain was orange at the bottom, with black spots in the middle, so I didn't shower. I took pictures, but there wasn't a link to submit them.
