I’ve stayed here twice, in two different rooms, and both were very clean with appliances that worked perfectly. It’s a great location for getting downtown: two bus stops are within a four-minute walk, and the ride to the train station takes 12 minutes. There’s also a paved path across E Briarwood Ave that runs toward E Broncos Pkwy. The round trip is about 2.3 miles, and I enjoyed stopping at the library toward E Broncos Pkwy. The staff are great and helpful with questions about the area. The main guy who works weekday mornings and afternoons is exceptional. Nothing but good things to say. I recommend booking here for any stay, especially a longer work trip.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Cici at the desk was great and tried to help when our TV didn’t work, but my friend and I ended up fixing it ourselves. The rules said no drinking outside your room, shoes and clothes must be worn outside, and of course no drugs. I wondered if there had been a problem before. Still, we smelled marijuana in the hall every time we left our room, day or night, despite the $250 charge for smoking in a room. The next morning, the head housekeeper came an hour before checkout and said we had to leave right then or pay a $35 late fee. I went to the desk, and they confirmed our reservation said checkout was at noon. We needed another night because of errands, including doctor’s appointments. The maid at the desk said it would be $100 plus tax, and I agreed because we were running short on time. Then Cecilia, the housekeeper, said they couldn’t extend the stay because of some computer capabilities that wouldn’t allow it. I’d extended stays at other places before, so I booked the room again through my agency and went to the desk for a third time. That’s when they told me the housekeeper said she smelled something from our room. That was impossible: we only made coffee and sprayed perfume, and my friend is on oxygen and can’t be near an open flame while using it. We had to pack fast and load the car, already running late for our appointments. I felt they saw us as easy targets because we weren’t their usual clientele, and I was afraid they’d charge me the extra $250. The place was full of people who looked like they had hotel vouchers from some government agency. I know some of them have jobs and work hard. But it felt like we were treated as an easy target, and I don’t think the people there were used to our type of clientele.

The room was super cute and we had a very nice stay. The only problems were water left across the floor after someone came to clean our A/C, and two piles of dog poop under the bed when I looked for the remote I’d dropped. Cici is AWESOME!!!!

I’ve been here about a month, and for weeks my room never got cleaned. I even bagged the garbage and left it by the door. When housekeeping finally came, they changed the towels, opened the curtains, and made the bed, but left my bagged trash sitting there. I’ve had to take out the garbage every week we’ve been here. On arrival, check-in was supposed to be at 3 p.m., but my room wasn’t ready until 7. I waited four hours in the lobby while they got around to cleaning it.

Sandy at the front desk is a real asset to Uptown Suites. She handles any issues with a smile and is truly a five-star employee. The suites are nice and very clean. My only complaint is that the WiFi is really unreliable.
