Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Medford-Central Point by IHG

The maintenance guy was friendly, and Joseph and Deja really made our soccer tournament stay. They were so good with customers, I hope they get raises. We had a great time there.

The room itself was a serious problem for us. I had booked two queen beds, but we were given a king and a foldout couch that was very uncomfortable and poor quality. The wheelchair-accessible setup was the worst I’ve encountered: there was a tub instead of a roll-in shower, no handheld shower head, and the ADA grab bars were loose and didn’t seem compliant. The shower chair didn’t fit properly, and there wasn’t enough space to transfer from a wheelchair or for a caregiver to help. Having accessible rooms on the third floor also left me wondering how my loved one could get to the lobby in an emergency if the elevator failed. I’m filing an Americans with Disabilities Act complaint. This was a terrible hotel, and Holiday Inn won’t get my business again. I’ll return to Hilton. Night-shift Barbara was nice, though, and deserves a raise.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Medford-Central Point by IHG for more than a month, and the staff made it feel welcoming. Everyone was friendly and helpful, including housekeeping, which was kind and consistent. They even remembered me, and I’m grateful for how comfortable they made the stay. The truck stop next door brings a lot of traffic around 4-6 PM, though I didn’t hear noise after hours. Call the front desk to check whether the pool and spa are available.

The pool was out of service the whole time we were there, which was the one real disappointment. We’d been looking forward to swimming, but the staff were helpful and called around to get us details for Rogue-X, a community pool with big slides, a lazy river, and an outdoor fountain area. It cost $6/child and $8/adult. Our room was clean, the beds had both soft and firm pillow choices, and there was plenty of space. If you need something that isn’t in the room, you can ask. I needed a laundry bag, paper, and a pen. The outlet below the TV didn’t seem to charge anything. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including eggs, meat, oatmeal, toast, bagels, pancakes from a machine, yogurt, cereal, and cinnamon rolls. The coffee was good, juice was available, and there was ample seating. It’s handy to the freeway, but you pass trucks stopping for fuel, and in the morning we could hear radios and cleaning from around 9am. The truck and freeway noise didn’t bother us. Staff were lovely throughout, and we’d stay again.
