Cozy Inn

A decent little place to spend a night, clean, with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows. It's right off the freeway and close to a gas mart. I was told there are new owners. Check-in took a bit: I waited almost 10 minutes for someone to show up, and then it took a while to get checked in. They weren't especially friendly.

I only stayed because my truck broke down and I had to wait for a parts store to open in the morning. For over $80, this was the most disgusting cheap place I've ever been in. There are plenty of other options around, so don't bother staying here. The lobby had a strange smell that made me keep clearing my throat, and it followed me through the whole place. I was coughing all night. The room was small and unfinished, with no baseboard trim and a dirt-filled gap around the edges. The mini fridge was badly unbalanced, so I adjusted the legs, but it still made noise all night. The TV remote was so sticky I put it right back down.

We were in town to see friends and the lighted Tractor parade, then head back north in the morning, so we just needed a place to sleep. The shower didn't work at all, and the bed linens had several stains. We also found a plastic bag tied around the fire alarm. When we mentioned it, the staff member seemed unconcerned and told us not to worry. That was a huge red flag, and I considered reporting the business for fire code violations. The customer service left a lot to be desired, and their approach to guest safety seemed far too lax. I wouldn't stay again. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

I gave this place one star. The main bed's bedding was the only clean thing in the room, and the pullout couch was gross. At checkout, they charged me $50 for one small orange spot on a blanket, saying the stain wouldn't come out. I have two kids and stay in lots of hotels, but none has given me this kind of trouble over something like this. Another review before mine described the same thing, so it seems like a little scam to get extra money. Don't stay here. Other cheap hotels in town won't nickel and dime you this way. Update: I went back and got the blanket since I'd paid $50 for it. It came clean in the wash with plain old Tide. I also checked the policy, which lists a queen size blanket at $48.50, but the employee charged me $50. I know it's only $1.50, but every dollar counts. Like I said, I'm pretty sure this is a scam to get more money out of you.
