Quality Inn Centralia Chehalis

I really enjoyed the pool and spa, and the beds were comfortable with new bedding. The staff were great and friendly, and breakfast was wonderful. My room could use a couple of small fixes, like the rattling bathroom fan and a scuff in the paint on the main room corner. Housekeeping was sporadic at best.

There’s some traffic noise because the property sits by an interstate onramp, and a few drivers seem to think they’re racing NASCAR as they leave pit road. Apart from that, I had no issues. It’s an older two-story hotel without an elevator, so if stairs are a problem, ask whether a downstairs room is available. The place has had appropriate updates, and everything worked as it should. My reservation was handled flawlessly, check-in was quick and very friendly, and the room was clean and quiet. Checkout went just as smoothly. I spoke with staff four times, and each time they were respectful, helpful, and polite. I think this is one of the best values between Chehalis and Tacoma. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but this $60 hotel was better than some places I’ve paid two or three times as much for. I’m glad I took a chance after reading the reviews. I don’t work for or have any connection to the owners. This is an honest account based on my stay and more than three decades in retail administration and customer service. The breakfast was much more than the continental meal we expected. It was a fully stocked kitchen where you could make your own waffles, and it was so good and fun. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This is my favorite place to stay now.

We came for three nights while a family member was being treated nearby for a life-threatening condition. For the price, we were very happy with the stay and would come back if we need to be in the area. The motel is clearly older, and a few furniture pieces have seen better days, but it felt homey rather than run-down, which is unusual at this price. The king bed was fantastic. I have a torn rotator cuff and usually wake up in pain several times a night, then hurt all morning. I slept comfortably here and realized how bad my bed at home had gotten. I’m planning to replace it. The bathroom was small but adequate, with a tub and shower, a curved curtain rod that stayed away from you, and plenty of hot water. They provided small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bar soap, and can offer razors, combs, and other forgotten items on request. The room was clean except for a clogged AC filter, which I rinsed under the bathtub faucet. After that, it cooled the room quickly. The walls were clean and nicely painted, with pictures on them and no chips or cracks that I noticed. The desk had room for my laptop, keyboard, and mouse, so I could work. Its outlet was loose, so I had to avoid bumping the cords or power strip. The chair was worn but comfortable enough. The sofa bed sagged in the middle. We didn’t sleep on it, so I can’t say how it would be as a bed. I sat in the middle to watch TV and play games with my VR headset; it was comfortable enough there, though two people might roll toward each other. The microwave was a little weak, so add a minute to the suggested cooking time. There’s an iron and board, a hair dryer, a single-serve coffee maker with several pouches, and a clean, working mini-fridge. The television, about 34 inches I think, worked fine but was a little hard to see from the bed. It had an unused HDMI port for a streaming box or console. They have Xfinity TV with what looked like many channels, though we used our streaming services. Wi-Fi was decent at 35 Mb/s down and 12 up, enough for streaming, work, and online PS5 games. Breakfast was a basic continental spread of packaged Danishes, cereal, doughnuts, bagels, yogurt, juice, milk, bottled water, coffee, and condiments. I may have missed something. It was sufficient, though the breakfast room is tiny, so we took food back to the room. Staff were friendly and checked in with us in passing. One night I asked for extra pillows and waited over two hours before going to the front desk myself. I understand they can get busy with a pretty full motel, but I would’ve appreciated being told to come get them instead of being left waiting.
