Motel Grand

My husband rented a room and was extremely dissatisfied. The shower was so dirty he wouldn't use it, and the heater didn't work. He froze until he couldn't take it anymore, then slept in his truck. I called the next morning to report it. The manager said they had heating system problems and could have moved him, but the night before she had told me that this was the only room ready. The other rooms had two queen beds and would cost more. Go to the Westerner Motel, they are amazing!

The on-site manager, "B", really knows what he's doing. I needed special accommodations, and he called his boss to ask about them. I haven't met the boss, but I'm very grateful. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, and the price is right. It's an older place, so don't expect the Carlton, but if you're passing through or staying longer, consider it.

The woman who runs the place is a jewel. She's been so accommodating both times we've stayed. It worked well for what we needed: clean, easy to get around, and comfortable beds. The small fridge was a plus and the microwave came in handy. It could use some updating, and a coffee maker would've been nice. We'll stay again.

We spent three nights at Motel Grand and liked it as much as the newest hotel we tried in Chadron a couple of months ago. We saved some money, too. It's an older motel, probably built in the 50s or 60s, and the manager at check-in was friendly and helpful. The mattresses were firm, the place was clean without an antiseptic smell, and those old-fashioned bathroom fixture colors were fun to see. Some people might complain about its age, but I can't think of a reason not to come back.
