The rooms were clean and adequately equipped, though on the old side and not especially large. Bathrooms are small and dated too. The hotel faces the water, which is pleasant, but it's about two miles from the historic center, so you'll need a car or Lyft/Uber. Service was friendly and generally fine. The Lounge breakfast was 'mew', nothing good. The building and common spaces are dated and unremarkable. At a moderate rate, this felt like a typical US city Marriott, around 3 to 3.5 out of 5 for me. As a Titanium Bonvoy Member, I've seen the real highs and lows. This was neither outstanding nor bad.

Thanks to everyone at the Charleston Marriott for looking after our WiRL group over the past couple of days. Staff from the front desk to housekeeping were kind and went above and beyond when we needed something. Another exceptional Marriott stay, and I'd recommend this location to anyone traveling in the Charleston area.

I stayed one night in room 1003. The staff were terrific, friendly and quick to respond, and the lobby, terrace and patio were clean, comfortable and attractive. The room itself was comfortable but a bit dank, with aging carpet, windows and shower. The property clearly needs the comprehensive renovation it's apparently scheduled for. The location is fine, though getting to the main historic district, the best shopping and restaurants really calls for an Uber or taxi. I look forward to coming back after the hotel is refreshed.

We always stay at the Marriott for business or pleasure, and this visit was no exception. The service was spectacular, and inside the hotel looked fabulous, smelled amazing and was clean. Our group of twenty colleagues were impressed too. One evening we went to blom, coffee and wine bar and loved it, especially the red and white wine selection. Later we headed downtown for dinner, which was amazing. The trip started with our stay at the hotel charleston marriott. Ten stars, since twenty weren't available.

The place was nice and the location was great. Check-in took 30 minutes, though. Maybe the night staff could be trained to move that along faster.
