Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Northlake

The Bistro team was great at both breakfast and dinner. My Starbucks coffee came out just right, which I appreciate as someone who travels a lot and cares about good coffee, and the food was consistently very good. Everyone there was warm, attentive, and friendly. I’m staying at Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Northlake now and have had a very positive experience. Travel can bring unexpected hiccups, but the team handled things with real care and professionalism. Leadership was responsive and attentive, and clearly takes guest satisfaction seriously. The property showed accountability and hospitality, and I’d gladly return to the Charlotte Northlake area. Thanks to Amy Panunzio and the whole team at this location.

The room was good and the staff were nice, but breakfast was awful. There were hardly any choices, and what they did have was sometimes cold. The last straw was finding they’d run out of oatmeal one day. The gym isn’t much use unless all you want is cardio and light dumbbells. If you only need somewhere to sleep, it’s fine. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Around midnight on November 8th, after a long trip and on our way back from CLT airport, our SUV broke down. We managed to coast into this Courtyard’s packed parking lot. An employee helped push it into the only open space, an EV spot. The two women there were so kind. I wish I knew their names. We weren’t staying at the hotel, just calling an Uber to get home and figure out the car, but they gave us a parking pass and assured us it was no trouble. Our mechanic was closed on Sunday, so the tow truck couldn’t take the vehicle there that day. We returned to the hotel and talked with Alisha, who was just as understanding and kind. We were able to arrange a tow for the next day. If this is how they treat people who aren’t even guests, I can imagine the service is wonderful for hotel guests. In a difficult situation, they made things much easier. It was refreshing to meet such welcoming people. Thank you all so much, and happy Thanksgiving!

My room was clean and the bed was comfortable, so I have no complaint about the room. The problem is the $10 daily parking charge. It’s just a parking lot, not a garage, and there are no security guards or anything like that. I’ve never had to pay to leave my car in a hotel parking lot before. It feels like another way to squeeze extra money from guests. I know the front desk staff didn’t make this policy, though I did tell them what I thought about it.
