Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte

The slow drains were the main snags: both the sinks and shower drained so slowly I nearly had bath water by the time I finished. We were also short on washcloths. Still, the room was clean and odor-free, and snacks were waiting when we arrived. Breakfast was much better than I expected. My steak and potatoes omelette and grits were cooked perfectly, and it was the best omelette I’ve had besides my own. Shoutout to the lady and gentleman working the omelette bar, especially Ms. Sandra and the brother whose name I can’t remember. The kitchen kept everything clean and stocked, and the wait staff were kind. The front desk team on both night and day shifts were helpful and friendly. The southern hospitality really comes through. A few times a year the women in my family meet in CLT for events and time together, and we usually stay at other Hilton hotels. We booked three rooms for the weekend of 2/27, and we’ve decided this will be our spot from now on. Thanks to the team for a great stay. I’ll be back.

A huge thank you to everyone working 1/31 and 2/1/26. The snowstorm was wild, and even while short staffed, you kept things moving. Travelers whose flights were cancelled got checked in as efficiently as possible. The complimentary drinks came through despite the very long line, and you provided meals when you could, so eventually we all got full bellies. The rooms were warm, the showers hot, and staff worked hard clearing the snowy walkways so we could get in and out safely. You stayed welcoming and courteous through it all. I can’t thank you enough for such a good experience!

The bar staff and food were great, but I still wouldn’t recommend staying here, even without the noise. We paid over $600 and got a filthy room with no pillows or sheets for the pullout. The bed had a mattress pad cover tucked between two top sheets as a “duvet,” with no blanket or comforter, and the pillows were tiny, barely covering half the bed. The women at the front desk were rude and unhelpful, though the men were nice. It felt like we were inconveniencing staff just by asking for a clean room, the promised accommodations, and some peace. We paid $200 a night and were woken at 8 a.m. by electric saws and drilling, on a U.S. sanctioned holiday. The website did mention renovations during those dates, but gave no 8 a.m. start time. My 11-year-old, who has the flu, and my infant, who’d been up most of the night teething, were both startled awake. Couldn’t they wait until the 11 a.m. checkout time? This is a 3 STAR HOTEL, not some cheap motel 8 or red roof. Do better, hilton. I understand the noise is temporary, but the rest made for an awful stay. Also, late checkout isn’t available on Sundays because it “makes it difficult for housekeeping,” though that isn’t mentioned on the website or after booking. 0/10, DO NOT STAY HERE.

Breakfast was very good, one of the best I’ve had at a hotel. The location is good too. But my room had a broken toilet seat, worn furniture, dirty caulking, and plenty of visible wear and tear that I wouldn’t expect at an embassy suites. The shower had no pressure at all, the pillows were uncomfortable, and the clock didn’t work.
