The dog stations have been out of bags for nearly two months, and there's dog poop everywhere. I pay for pest control, but nobody has come into my apartment to spray. Bird nests in the hallways are another issue I've reported. The office says they can't do anything and tells us to call wildlife. At this rate, maybe I should be on the payroll, since I'm the one filing all the complaints. Some staff are friendly, but a few are lazy and nobody wants to help or take responsibility. Teens smoke weed in the gym, and some days that's all you smell while working out. The office says there's nothing they can do and tells us to call the police. They say the gym cameras were turned off by corporate and don't work. They screwed the gym windows shut to stop people getting in that way, but the teens come through the back entrance like everyone else. The water fountain has had its replace filter light on since December, and I've never seen soap in the dispensers. Car break-ins happen everywhere, so I can't really fault them for that alone, but this company needs to make serious changes. Nobody should have to live in these conditions. Please do better. I lived here for 2.5 years. The place was great under Cortland development, but things went downhill after Higmark took over. Trash accumulated, there was no security, the office didn't answer calls, and shootings happened regularly with no email explaining what had happened. The maintenance crew were the one bright spot, professional and hardworking. By the end of my second year, I took a six-month renewal so I could find somewhere else. I was paying over $1,500 for a 1B unit while the current rate for that unit was $1,100. I felt desperate to leave because the apartment cost far more than it was worth, and I could get somewhere much nicer for the same rent. My place was pristine and I always paid early, but when ending my lease I got no flexibility to line up the end date with my new lease. I paid for an extra month even though I no longer lived there. Five months after moving out, I still had no information about my security deposit. I went to the office and was told the manager would get back to me. Three weeks later, I haven't heard anything, and my calls haven't been answered either. I'd avoid this place if possible.

Of the apartment tours I've taken in the past few weeks, this one was the best. Ms. Kaia listened to what I wanted and gave me outstanding service. She was candid about the apartments and the prices, and took time to explain the different costs involved in leasing here. Thank you, Kaia, for being such a people person and so good at your job. I'm definitely considering this community.

Kaia made touring the Cascades easy and stress-free. She was welcoming, professional, patient, and knew her stuff. She took time to understand what I wanted and made a strong impression. I'd recommend asking for her when you tour.
