Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte NE - University Area by IHG

The front desk staff were friendly, but I expected a bit more from an IHG property. My room was mostly clean, though I only got coffee on arrival. One day the beds were made, the next they weren't, and bathroom service was similarly inconsistent. The number of towels changed each time they cleaned. While I was getting breakfast, security had to chase a couple of homeless people away from the buffet.

Chris, Miss Mickey, and Asia were great. They smiled, helped me out, and pointed me in the right direction. They knew a lot and were a wealth of information. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. You guys did a good job.

I'm a truck driver who drives through the night, so hotel check-in times often don't work for me. I called ahead and asked Mary if she could help if anything was available. She was well-spoken and polite, seemed to have good values, and understood my situation. She got me checked in and arranged a room on the ground floor, since I was riding an electric scooter while my truck was at a shop five miles away. I could tell she cared about what I was dealing with and about me as a person. That means a lot to me. Thanks for making my day, Mary. You're awesome.

My truck was broken into early on 12/23 while parked near the entrance in a reasonably well-lit spot. Several other trucks in the same lot were hit too. I'm still giving five stars because the hotel's customer service and cleanliness were on point.
