The kids were glad to have the continental breakfast before their tournament. There was a good range of hot food that tasted fresh, including bacon, sausage, eggs, veggie omelets, and cinnamon rolls, as well as pancakes from the machine. They also had bagels, muffins, cereal, and oatmeal. I especially liked the fresh coffee from the automated machine. The morning staff wished the girls luck and sent us off warmly. We come to this side of the state often for tournaments, and the kids already want to stay here next time. Having Meijer right there was handy for picking up anything we needed. We arrived close to 11 p.m. and were greeted right away by a very sweet, friendly woman at check-in. I was a bit unsure after reading mixed reviews, but the hotel had been updated and felt modern, clean, and fresh. Our room was just right, with comfortable beds and big pillows, and it was easy to get the temperature right. There was a mini Keurig with coffee and tea pods, plus Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. I appreciated the pump hand soap instead of a little wrapped bar. Highly recommend!

The room was clean, but several things didn't work: the TVs, the phone to the front desk, and the bathroom exhaust fan. The front desk said they'd just remodeled and already knew the TVs in that room had problems. The toilet was also extremely short, and there were no grab bars. I can't see how an adult, especially a taller person, is meant to use it. We had a king suite, so I don't understand why it needed such a short toilet.

The breakfast is easily the best in town. I don't think you'll find another hotel breakfast around here as good, and they give you enough to leave feeling satisfied. The place has improved over the years, and I've noticed progress on each of my several stays, even though I've had mixed feelings at times. That kind of improvement matters, and I think it reflects well on the owner. Hotels are often under-repaired, and a lot depends on who owns them and the traffic and revenue they want. Some of the reviews here seem petty to me. Thanks for the good night's sleep and great breakfast. My one suggestion is to reply to every review, good or bad. Five out of five, and I'll be back.

The breakfast was amazing, even though it was served in a meeting room. The bathroom was really nice, with lotion, hand wash, body wash, conditioner, and shampoo, and the shower was wonderful. The rooms were nice too. The pool was cold but nice, though the photos showed a jacuzzi that's no longer there and should be removed. The front area was under construction, but things were still good. Going down the stairs felt sketchy and scary, and elevators scare me as usual. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I recommend the hotel.

The pool is cold, and the hot tub has been filled in. That's the only reason I'm giving four stars. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were clean. I attached an updated photo.
