Staybridge Suites Charlotte Ballantyne by IHG

The breakfast was the best, with a great variety: a yougart bar, cereal, soda, and the standard egg items. The fruit was fresh, and the scones looked really good. The hotel was super clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pullout couch worked for smaller children but wasn't very comfortable for adults. There were restaurants and stores nearby, and we were happy they allowed our fur baby. The exit doors made it easy to take her out to potty, and bags were available. My one disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working. The evening manager told me the site had been updated, but it still shows the working spa. :(

The rooms were spacious and had a full kitchen, and check-in and check-out were smooth. The location was absolutely great, with restaurants, hospitals, and CVS close by. Definitely worth it. Bathrooms were clean, but there was no housekeeping service all weekend, in line with their policy. I wasn't happy about that, since I don't want to come back in the evening and make my own bed or clean, even for a couple of days. At check-in, we found a housekeeping glove on the bedroom floor, plus a chocolate wrapper and a gummy by the bed, so I'm not sure the room had been cleaned thoroughly. The drapes were torn, and they should remove the blanket labels because they were really rough against the blankets and sheets. I guess that might be from repeated laundry. Breakfast was good, with a nice spread of cereal, fruit, waffles, bread, eggs, and more. The team working there were welcoming, smiling, and efficient.

The room was clean, and the staff were helpful and professional throughout our stay. My wife and I were in town for my business trip when the snowstorm hit. Tanya was especially helpful, and I even got to use one of the two grills outside before the storm. Thanks again, Hilton, for making things so accommodating.

The hallways could use better upkeep, though our room itself was fairly clean. We stayed five nights in Charlotte over New Year, and it was a comfortable visit. The room had plenty of space, breakfast was tasty with a nice range of choices, and the location worked well for us.
