Omni Charlottesville Hotel

The lobby, bar, and lounge are the hotel's strong point: a great place to meet everyone, get food, or have a drink. We stayed there with family and friends for our wedding at a venue outside the city, and had a great experience overall. The hotel connects to a walking mall with restaurants and shops, so it was easy to explore and find meals. Breakfast was pricey, but the waiter provided very good service and there was a great selection. The bed was too squishy for me, since I sleep better on a firm mattress, though the comforter did feel like a proper comforter rather than a random quilt and sheet. I never connected to the WiFi and we didn't spend much time in the room. On some dates, that Saturday night price is double the other nights. It's a classier hotel than the others around it.

The rooms and hotel itself were quite nice, but booking through Amex travel was a bad experience. They wouldn't honor the credit, and after an accidental charge of more than $200, the hotel management said they couldn't correct it and apologized. Nothing got fixed. When Amex travel contacted the hotel, they seemed to forget a conversation we'd had just three days earlier. Stay away from these fraudulent practices.

Warren from Room Service made sure we could get a hot meal late in the evening, when most places were about to close. After a long day working a wedding, his kindness and attention to detail meant a lot and won't be forgotten. Another team member from the front desk and room service team also went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The staff really made our stay at the Omni Charlottesville memorable. The updated hotel is spacious, clean, and well maintained, with an impressive open-air lobby and atrium. Breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming each morning, and the bell staff quickly helped with our car loads on several days. The coffee bar makes great lattes and has non-dairy options. The lobby and dining area felt open and inviting, and the whole place was spotless. For a central Charlottesville stay with comfortable rooms and great service, I highly recommend the Omni.

The front desk and valet teams were helpful and friendly, especially Bintu!, and the stay felt relaxing and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better. The breakfast wait staff seemed a little stretched, but we'd definitely come back to the Omni Charlottesville.
