The noise from guests above us, talking and making noise until 3:00am, kept us from sleeping well and spoiled both nights of our stay. The property is convenient to the Main Street and has a nice feature in providing beach gear, though the path to the ocean beach is narrow. We got the impression the neighbors weren't pleased with all the hotel foot traffic on their street. The outside needs a complete overhaul and has an institutional feel. There were so many cameras that we felt like Big Brother was watching, and the signs about pay-as-you-go in the common area felt a bit threatening. Signs also said food couldn't be brought back to the room due to a health code, which seemed odd. Overall, it's a nice place, but these things affected our stay.

Laura, the innkeeper, was amazing, and everything was clean and tidy with fantastic service. It's a great budget-friendly choice, just half a block from the beach. The service was fabulous, and I highly recommend it.

Being able to stroll to the beach path made this long weekend easy, and the Surfside had towels, chairs, coolers, and even an ice machine ready to use. Our room was clean, breakfast was light but just right for starting the day, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic family stay, with town close by too. I'd happily come back.

We liked the beach just a minute away, and the Wednesday opening at the Lighthouse is an easy walk too, though expect a line to get inside. The fishing pier takes closer to a brisk 20-minute walk, but there's good food there. Around 9am we saw a seal when a boat was unloading fish. The Surfside is also near some much pricier hotels, but it's a sensible, clean place with a great location, helpful staff, easy parking, and reasonable rates. No fountains or fancy landscaping out front, which was fine for our family. The heater did make loud, short bursts that kept me awake a little as a light sleeper, though it didn't bother anyone else. We had a great stay and I'd recommend it to people who aren't looking for four- or five-star amenities.

I was in town for a wedding at Chatham Bars Inn and was lucky Surfside Inn had a room available. Laura took care of my reservation and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. The inn is charming and quaint, very close to Chatham Bars, and the stunning beach is nearby too. Such a lovely stay.
