The front desk experience left a bad taste. We asked for a shuttle to the ferry when we checked out, and they said they’d come get us. We checked back well before it was due, but the shuttle left several minutes early, with no warning or apology afterward. The restaurant service was excellent, and we love Josh. The location and water-view porch are 10/10, but the hotel and restaurant don’t come close to being worth $400+ a night. We paid over $1,000 for two nights in a charming but pretty dated hotel, and left feeling ripped off.

I held my 50-person wedding at the Inn. The food, staff, and whole experience were extraordinary, and it was the most spectacular venue. Nothing beats it.

The service was warm, attentive, and excellent, and the place is kept sparkling clean. The Inn sits on top of a hill, within walking distance of the ferry, though with heavy bags you should call ahead or on arrival to ask for a shuttle. Rooms are tiny, and the shared bathrooms kept this from getting a fifth star. There’s a lot to enjoy: a wrap-around porch for meals and cocktails, local oysters, an afternoon beer garden, evening s’mores by the outdoor fire, access to a nine-hole golf course, and swoon-worthy views. Book dinner at the Inn in advance because it gets busy and there aren’t many other dining options. Bring a bike with gears, the island has plenty of hills.

If you’re on the Island and have extra money, it’s worth a visit. The bar is a great place for Island community members to meet, and I’ve had so many good times here. The food and cocktails are very good, and the service and drinks have been wonderful. Having a bar to visit on the Island is amazing.

The Green Goddess salad was phenomenal, and the Pollock Schnitzel was unusual and packed with flavor. Summer zucchini was prepared in a one-of-a-kind way, with a surprising mix of flavors that worked perfectly. It’s pricey, but the cost fits the setting, quality, and ambiance, and it was well worth the overtime. We finished with Maine Blueberry Pie, a lovely end to the meal. Our waiter was a younger gentleman whose name I can’t recall, and he was polite, accommodating, and wonderful. It was a stunning evening with great company and excellent ambiance. This was one of the most unique restaurants I’ve been to, and simply the best meal I’ve ever had.
