El Camino Motel

The shower had a strong stream and got really hot, and the bed was spotless and extremely comfortable. I was impressed that the place looked and smelled clean as soon as I walked in, cleaner than some fancier, higher-end hotels I've stayed in. The rooms are a little dated, but cozy and inviting. The staff were kind and helpful. I'll stay again.

VERY DISGUSTED!! We called ahead and reserved one king bed. After paying and getting the key, we found two full-size beds instead, not what we requested or thought we were paying for. Back at the office, the man said that was all they had. I asked why he'd confirmed our one king room on the phone. He threw our money across the counter and told us, “enjoy sleeping in your car tonight.” How RUDE! I reminded him that our family and I had been repeat customers for years and had been there less than a month ago. We left for the much nicer Rodeway Inn down the road, where for just a little more we got one king bed, a private balcony overlooking the river, a jacuzzi and great customer service. We and our other family members will NEVER stay at this nasty place run by hateful people again. Don't waste your time or money.

The room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly, and although I had booked a non-smoking room a week ahead, it smelled of smoke. There were toenails on the floor and dirty surfaces. I was visiting from out of town, so when the owner offered a refund and told me to leave, that wasn't a workable option. I asked for cleaning supplies or a partial refund instead. He got very rude and swore at me, even though I stayed calm and didn't insult him. The whole response felt incredibly unprofessional, like a toddler's tantrum. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

The room was spacious, clean, and smoke-free, though the view wasn't much to speak of. Staff were kind and helped us switch rooms. I'd recommend it for a one-night stay. 8/10
