We found no bed bugs, the water was hot, and the mattress looked new. We checked the mattress, headboard, all the bedding, and even did an iron test. No bugs showed up, and we didn’t notice any of the nasty smells mentioned in other reviews. For $67, the room was clean, the bed comfy, the location great, breakfast decent, and the front desk staff and guests we met were pleasant. This was in 2/2026. The pool was filthy, though. It wasn’t really indoor or outdoor, but detached with a greenhouse over it. When we went in, it smelled strongly of cigarettes and was so smoky it looked foggy, despite no-smoking signs everywhere. The pool and hot tub looked nasty. Maybe they take better care of them in summer, but I didn’t check the temperature and didn’t want to touch the water. I was upset because I’d passed on a hotel with a gym so our toddler could swim. All in all, it was decent for the price. I’d rather pay more for a clean pool and a gym, but everywhere else was booked.

The staff were very kind, but the hotel was in terrible shape. My guest and I booked two nights and left after one. Everything in the room seemed to be falling apart, and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Strangely, there was no bathroom door at all, no privacy wall or curtain either. It wasn’t a handicap room, and with two beds you’d think they’d understand that guests might want some privacy. There was also a lobby sign warning about a stinkbug infestation and saying guests just had to deal with it. A really unfortunate stay. My only hope of getting some money back is if booking.com will offer a partial refund for the night we didn’t use.

The hotel smelled like weed throughout, and the pool was disgusting. I reserved a king suite, but the room was very dim and the TV was smaller than the microwave. Someone started a fire in the parking lot. The front desk clerk told them to stop but acted like it was no big deal. The window was broken and wouldn’t shut, so a cold breeze came in all night. After midnight, I couldn’t sleep because employees kept slamming doors. I won’t stay here again.

The casino and hotel location were highlights, and the rest of my trip was amazing. The room, though, looked nothing like the online photos. It was dingy and needs an upgrade. We also only learned after paying that the pool was out of service. It’s described as indoor, but it’s in a sunroom that you have to reach by going outdoors. The worst part was waking up Sunday with a bed bug on me. I was disgusted, and the man at the front desk seemed nonchalant when I reported it. We left that day. I called Sunday and Monday asking to speak with manager Pamela. First I heard she was at another location and would call, then that she wasn’t feeling well but would call. It’s Tuesday and I still haven’t heard from her. I hadn’t planned to write a review, just let the manager know, but it feels like she’s avoiding me. I’d never stay here again. It was my first time in Cherokee NC, and the place itself was very nice.

I won't stay here again. The manager came to my door at 8 pm with a picture of me taking trash outside and told me to dig it back out and put it in the dumpster or get a warning or fine. The staff were very rude, and I won't return to this hotel or place.
