Stonebrook Lodge Cherokee

We drove from Florida for a long weekend in the Cherokee/Bryson City area, and someone suggested Stone Lodge in Bryson. I should have checked the many poor reviews, including on Google, before booking. When I arrived at 1:30, check-in was at 3. I offered to pay a fee or upgrade since I’d driven a long way, but was told nothing was available and to come back. I returned at 2:52 and was again told to wait until 3. I understand housekeeping and staffing can be an issue, but there were only about four cars in the lot, including staff cars. I also find it hard to believe the place had been sold out the night before. Once checked in, the “mountain view balcony room” was substandard and looked out onto a dirt hill. If I could have rated it zero, I would have. Stonebrook Lodge, train your staff in communication and common sense.
