Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cherry Hill - Philadelphia

Getting onto the Wi-Fi was a real hassle. First I had to enter my last name and room number, then sign up for their app. Asking for my email and phone number felt like too much information and none of their business. Paying for the stay should be enough. Nobody should have to join an app, especially when Wi-Fi is included. Feathers nest is way better. Sorry, I’ll never come back.

I was only there briefly, so I can’t give a fully fair rating. The front desk women were lovely, understanding, and very accommodating about my situation. The room itself smelled strongly of an ashtray, even though the facility is supposed to be non-smoking. I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t say whether it would have bothered me later, but walking in was unpleasant. The bathroom could use a remodel too. One thing to keep in mind if you’re heading to Philly: the hotel is in New Jersey, just over the Ben Franklin bridge. If you use that bridge to get in and out, the quick route costs $6 each way in cash.

The bed was comfortable and the location was convenient, so it was fine for a short or overnight visit. Bring your own drinks and snacks, though, since the vending machine was empty. Breakfast was pretty limited: toast bread, oatmeal, cereal, and make-your-own pancakes. No eggs or bacon, and there wasn’t any juice. The microwave even had a sign about heating an omelet for no more than 45 seconds. I also wouldn’t bother checking in on your phone. I still had to give all my information in person, and the receptionist said she didn’t know why they sent the mobile check-in message.

The room was welcoming, comfortable, and very clean, and the staff made sure I had what I needed. The fire alarm did go off unexpectedly in the middle of the night, but they dealt with it quickly. I had a very pleasant stay and would happily return.
