Best Western Rose Quartz Inn

As we were heading out, the front desk clerk handed us a travel packet with water and snacks. Such a thoughtful touch. We'd spent one night here after visiting Lassen NP and found it restful and relaxing. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and breakfast was very good. I'd recommend staying here if it fits your schedule.

Breakfast had fresh fruit, and the employee looking after it was clearly passionate about her job. She kept condiments and food topped up so nothing ran out. There were cookies all day and coffee at the front office, and the gym was enough for a light workout. Parking was easy and free, with plenty of food within walking distance and a cute little park nearby. It's also close to Lassen National Park. The staff went beyond what we expected to care for guests, and our room had plenty of space with a clean restroom.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the desk staff were courteous and pleasant. But four things got in the way. Two light fixtures didn't work, and when I asked staff to look at them, nothing came of it. The working lights were very dim, especially in the bathroom where good lighting matters. The Wi-Fi was too weak to use. The AC was also excessively loud, and in heat mode it sounded like a small propeller plane taking off in the room. I'd stay again, but hope management fixes these fairly simple problems.

I can't speak to the rooms since I didn't stay in one, but the people running this hotel were amazing. I was in town for a family reunion and needed somewhere to work because the Starlink at our Airbnb wasn't working. I called expecting I'd have to pay for a room, but they let me use the business center and, most importantly, the Wi-Fi. I even worked through the night once, and they were welcoming the whole time. If paying guests are treated even half as well as a traveler hanging out there, they'll have a great stay. Next time we're in the area, I'd probably choose this hotel over Airbnb. Thanks again for the hospitality, and if you're in town, don't miss the chance to experience it.
