White House Motel

I was feeding my two toddlers when I saw three bed bugs on the bedspread. I freaked out, since I’d never seen bedbugs in real life, and my children had woken up covered in bites. When I brought it to the housekeeper’s attention, she argued that they didn’t have bed bugs, even though you can clearly see them in pictures from their reviews, then hung up on me. This is disturbing. My poor babies. There has to be a way to report them.

The room we were offered had mold everywhere, no smoke detectors, and stained bedding full of cigarette burns. We’d already waited more than half an hour for the front desk woman to show up. When I complained, she said, “If you want good service and a nicer room you need to book with a chain.” Utter trash. Good riddance.

My room was filthy, the couch was torn apart, and the replacement room I got was just as bad. Stains everywhere, like nothing had been washed. The pillows were disgusting, the sheets had burn holes, and there were spider webs in the corners and spiders in the bathtub. I waited almost half an hour for someone to come to the desk, and was told to go to a better hotel if I wanted better service. An absolute mess. Look at the photos and stay away.

The area felt depressed and scary at night, with questionable people going in and out of rooms all night. I wouldn’t choose this for an overnight family stay. I’d pay a little more and drive a little farther to somewhere less run down and unkept.
