Sonesta ES Suites St. Louis - Chesterfield

We booked through a third party for a June 2025 trip to the area for baseball, but the booking didn’t line up with the rooms at the property. The manager went above and beyond to sort it out and get us what we needed. She was helpful and clearly cared that we have a great stay. We ended up in a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom place with a second-floor loft. It was nice and exactly what we wanted.

We’ve had good experiences at other Sonesta properties, but this stay was awful enough to make us question any future Sonesta stays. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was the dirtiest one we’ve ever stayed at. There was a musty smell when we entered, though we initially tried to overlook it. In the shower, my girlfriend found a booger on the curtain, several little spiders she had to kill, pink mold in the grout, plus hair and dust around the tub. I went to put food in the fridge and found crumbs and strands of hair all over the shelves. Then I spotted another spider on the ceiling and had to jump up to kill it. The sheets had eyelash glue and small black dots of an unknown substance. The air duct was caked with dust, and the carpet was badly stained. We called the front desk at 11:04pm but couldn’t reach anyone. Since it was so late, we took blankets from our car and slept on those. The next morning, the front desk attendant was nice and offered a Gatorade and the GM’s business card for the inconvenience. He said he couldn’t do more himself and that we’d have to contact the GM, Dalal. We’ve called her but can’t seem to get hold of her.

Our curtains were torn and the floors were stained. The room was also really loud from traffic, since it’s so close to the highway and the quality is low. It’s almost too dog friendly: every room seems to have pets, so when one dog barks, they all start.

Our company, Strictly Results, stayed for 11 days. The three-bedroom place gave us full-home living and was a great fit for coworkers as well as families. Highly recommend.
