Tru by Hilton Chesterfield Township Detroit

The location is great, with easy access to I94 and Hall Road, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. But the beds felt like cement, and I'm in a lot of pain and discomfort. I have back issues and Fibromyalgia, so if you have health issues, I0/10 DO NOT recommend. There was no couch or chair in the room, only the hard rolling desk chair. The bathroom wallpaper was peeling, and there's no fan to reduce the humidity when you shower.

We had to stay here because of a gas leak at home, but the beds were so bad that sleeping on the floor would've been better. After tossing and turning for hours, I gave up trying to sleep and went to my car. The chargers built into the lamp don't work either. I thought my phone had been charging for 3 hours, but it was only at 30%. What a shame for Hilton. Their beds have always been comfortable for me.

The stay was so-so. The location was great, the breakfast was good, and housekeeping kept things orderly. But we were never recognized as Silver members, there was no water, and both the card key machine and digital key had problems. On the 4th floor we were locked out of our room numerous times and had to get someone to open the door. The water pressure up there was also very low. In the middle of the night, a wall edge strip fell down and hit the floor, scaring the heck out of us. The front desk didn't respond to any of my texts in the Hilton app.

The room smelled really bad, and there were small pieces of feces smeared in the toilet when we first walked in. We had booked a room, but had to leave four hours into the stay because of a family emergency in Toledo. Around 1230am and 1:00 am, I explained this to the front desk guy. He said he'd ask the manager about refunding us and told me to call the next day to confirm. The Manager assured me she'd credited our account for the night's stay. A week later, there was no refund, so I called again. She said she'd credited my card and gave me the last four digits, but it wasn't even our card, it belonged to someone else. Then the manager gave me a smart ass answer and said to get the money from whoever owned that card. I don't recommend this hotel. They didn't keep their word and showed no integrity.
