Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Louis Chesterfield

The place is clean and updated. It looks like the construction is wrapping up, and the staff are really friendly and ready to help.

The EV chargers were all blocked by cars that weren’t electric, including some employees’ cars. I need the charger, so I won’t be back. The TV didn’t work, and there were no titanium benefits either.

We stayed two nights, then switched to a hotel down the road because the workers here fell short from the start. We stay long term in hotels, have been to hundreds, and know what standard to expect. This place felt more like a hangout for the workers. At $150+ per night, they need to hire people who can smile and speak to guests without acting like they hate their lives. The staff’s attitudes were a letdown.

A quiet room is possible if you ask for one facing the back of the hotel, toward Conway and the Sonesta suites. It’s quieter there, though loud trucks or other vehicles from the adjacent freeway can still be heard in any room. This new Springhill opened in March 2026, and there were serious issues that should have been fixed before opening. The parking lot was partly dug up, with trailers from the adjacent Fairfield Inn, which was closed for renovations. Google Maps routes you to the main entrance, but that entrance wasn’t accessible. You have to turn onto Conway Rd. to get into the lot, and the website didn’t explain this or even make it clear. Construction was still underway inside, with workers coming and going during the day. The suites were large by Springhill standards, but the sofa bed had strange white stains that looked like paint or drywall. I told the front desk, and they flippantly said they’d look into it. I seriously doubt they did. The website also had no photos of the property or rooms and no information about the dug-up parking lot. As a very frequent traveler, I found the staff, from the front desk to maintenance to the bartender, the most unfriendly and glib I’ve encountered. Nobody smiled or seemed happy to be there, which was shocking for a brand-new property. The vibe was palpable, and the front desk staff looked especially sloppy and casual. Marriott should seriously reconsider its staff training.
