TownePlace Suites Chesterfield

We needed somewhere safe and comfortable at the last minute after my kids and I were harassed during a horrible stay at Staybridge Suites in Southgate Mi. This place came through for us. The front desk host was welcoming to me and the kids, and let me look at the room before we checked in without any hesitation. It was spotless, spacious, and had what we needed. My kids loved the pool, and my family was able to book two more rooms so we could spend time together. The suite setup also gave the kids room to connect their Xbox and PlayStation in the living room while my husband and I relaxed with Netflix that evening. Our stay was peaceful, clean, and enjoyable, just what we needed after the stress elsewhere. We’re grateful for the hospitality and plan to come back.

We only stayed one night, but it was a pleasant one. The staff were exceptionally great across the board, from breakfast and housekeeping to the front desk, especially April. The rooms were clean, and I really liked having a mini kitchen. There are plenty of food options close by, and getting to the highway is easy.

We picked this nice hotel for our wedding room block on September 13th. The rooms were clean, and it was helpful that many were available for early check-in. Communication was the weak point. We sent Dell several emails and made multiple calls without getting a reply. I understand he works across several hotels, so maybe he needs another person to help. Even when we called the front desk, they didn't seem to know where to find him for a simple question. We had discussed booking a room for the day before the wedding, but couldn't get an answer, so we didn't stay that night. Replies and follow-up definitely need to be more prompt.

The room itself was fine, but the stay left me frustrated. My partner and I were in town for work, and they tried to authorize the full cost of our stay. I've never seen that before, especially since it says authorization is up to 7 days of the stay plus incidentals. If that's not actually the policy, they should change it because it's ridiculous to me. I asked for the manager several times, but was told she had left, even though it was only noon, 3, or 4pm on a weekday. The front desk wasn't helpful either. If we're back, we won't stay here.
