Red Roof Inn & Suites Chestertown

The staff were top-notch, and maintenance fixed my leaky shower head right away. I also really liked the scents of the soap and lotion. The hotel is in a good spot, and it wasn't a bad stay, but the rooms could use a facelift. There were rust spots on the shower floor and the caulk had come out. The walls and furniture were stained, parts of the carpet had holes, and there was a strange smell. It mostly needs cosmetic work.

My wife and I spent four nights here and killed more than ten German Cockroaches. I only learned what a German cockroach was after Googling a picture of one we'd just killed, and was horrified. We kept all our clothes tightly zipped in our luggage around the clock because we were afraid the insects would get into our bags. That was unacceptable. When we checked out, the desk employee didn't seem concerned and said, "this is the time when they come out." She said she'd tell maintenance to bomb the room. Before I mentioned the Cockroaches, she hadn't asked how our stay was, and when I reported them she didn't apologize. Since we'd booked through a third party, she said we couldn't get a refund, and offered nothing else, not even an apology. Our stay was 5/1/26-5/5/26.

I've stayed here several times for work, and I'm always satisfied. It's easily the best hotel in Kent County, so when I'm on this part of the Shore, I never have to wonder where I'll stay.

I was here on business. The rooms were okay, though the carpet and chairs had quite a few stains. Breakfast was included, but it wasn't very good. The "scrambled" eggs were burnt, and there was no fruit, cereal, or yogurt. The coffee creamer didn't impress me either, and the area around the coffee machine wasn't clean.
