Rainbow's End Resort

Our rental was clean, with a spacious, well-kept lot, and the kids loved swimming in the lake. We relaxed by the bondfire and ate near sunset. Terry was friendly and helpful, and made the whole weekend vacation go smoothly. We'll definitely come back!

Being right on the water was the best part, and it might work for two people whose main plan is fishing. The Ironwood Trailer wasn't clean, with cobwebs around and dust under the beds. Empty paper towel rolls and Kleenex boxes had been left behind, even though those supplies weren't actually provided. There were a few dishes and dish towels, but we needed to bring nearly everything else from home, including paper towels and bath towels. The website hadn't mentioned that, or that you couldn't pull a vehicle close to unload and load. The trailer definitely wasn't suitable for four adults, though it could be okay for two adults and two small children. The added porch leaked when it rained. With no A/C, moisture built up and the floors buckled, so the bathroom door wouldn't close. The windows also wouldn't stay open easily. Everyone shared a fire pit that was only lit when someone decided to light it, so a small family fire wasn't an option.

The Willow cabin was clean, its beds were comfortable, and the dock was only about 60 feet away. The grounds were clean too, and the fish house was fair. We were there to fish, so the location suited us, though the property feels very outdated, more like it might have been okay in the 50s or 60s. The mobile home near the lake was in poor shape and not worth the rate. We arrived as four people intending to stay there, but conditions were bad enough that they gave us a cabin next door as well, two places for the price of one. Without that, we would've been very dissatisfied. The pull-out sofa was terrible. The owners were friendly enough, but seemed a bit over their heads. We might stay again if we could get the same deal as last year. For a family vacation with more than three people, though, no, I wouldn't consider it. We first visited in spring 2012, and given the rate and quality, it was probably our last.

I rented the main cabin on Airbnb for a couple of nights, and it was such a relaxing place during the Arctic blast we just had. I'll be back to support them in the off season. Thank you!
