The staff were very friendly, the service was wonderful, and the location is great. The hotel and rooms look nicely renovated. But I didn't wake up rested: the mattress was cheap, crunchy, and unsupportive. For people like us who travel weekly, cleanliness matters, and so does the mattress. Why would Marriott lower its standards by buying cheap mattresses in bulk?

This is a nice Fairview brand Marriott, but it's beside a railroad yard, so earplugs are thoughtfully included among the standard room amenities. As a Marriott member, I was surprised that on a Sunday they wouldn't even consider check-in before 3 pm.

The beds were comfortable, and the staff were nice. There's a laundry room, but washing costs $3.50 in quarters and drying another $3.50. Breakfast was the usual Marriott fare. In the shower they use wall-mounted refill bottles for shampoo, conditioner, and lotion instead of individual ones. I found several small hairs in the shower and little hair ties on the bathroom floor, so the room hadn't been cleaned properly. Housekeeping needs to check the details and clean the whole room.

It's a new, clean hotel with good amenities. The fitness center has what you need to keep up your routine on the road, and breakfast includes a range of healthy hot and cold choices. Great value.

The location was great, and the room worked fine for our stay, though it was surprisingly small for the Fairfield brand. The employee who checked us in was by far the rudest staff member I've met across 80-plus stays at Bonvoy properties. I'll look somewhere else next time I'm in Cheyenne.
