Red Lion Hotel & Conference Center Cheyenne

We paid less here than I have spent elsewhere for rooms of this quality, sometimes over $300, so I'm very pleased with Red Lion Hotel. The room was excellent, and the shower on the fifth floor had firehose-like pressure. Breakfast was plentiful, with plenty of protein. The building was bright, parking was good, and the lobby was nice. Remodeling was underway but didn't get in the way, and the hallway carpets were clean and fresh. The employees follow management's lead and run a tight ship. Hurray, Team.

I originally liked this place and thought I'd keep coming back when I was in the area, but after this stay I won't. My truck is in the shop, so this was my second visit in two weeks. Last week I was given two vouchers for breakfast. This time I didn't get one at check-in, and since nobody checked vouchers at breakfast the week before, I assumed they'd forgotten it. I was making a plate when a rude older woman came in and asked if I'd put my voucher in the basket. I said I hadn't been given one. With an attitude, she told me to get one at the desk if I wanted to eat. I stopped fixing my plate and went over, thinking it would be easy to sort out. The young man asked how many vouchers I wanted to buy. I thought breakfast was free, but he said the policy had changed in the past week and breakfast now cost $6.99 for children and $9.99 for adults. Free continental breakfast is still shown online, which isn't what we found. I've never had a hotel experience like this before, and I expect more from a place like this. If I'd known, I'd have spent my money elsewhere. A hotel with free continental breakfast and professional staff will get my business in the future.

Even after the Cheyenne coin club moved its shows elsewhere, we kept staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean, the food is great, and everyone who works there has been great. We live an hour away but still stay here whenever there's a show in Cheyenne. I'd encourage anyone traveling to stay here. They're 150% great.

The beds were comfy, and the stay was good overall. They're remodeling, so some things are unavailable, and the breakfast buffet is pretty sad. Everything else was good.
