The Tampa EDITION

Freddy and Michael got us into our room quickly and were around whenever we needed help. We came with family for a wedding, and everyone loved the food. The rooms are beautiful, and the service was so attentive that someone would check in if you walked through the lobby looking a little lost. The Edition is modern, clean, and very pretty, in a lovely neighborhood. A serene place to stay, and we had nothing but good things to say.

For my 35th birthday stay at Tampa Edition, we were told there wasn't a nearby parking garage and ended up paying $65 a day for Vallet parking. We arrived before the 4 pm check-in, and our room wasn't ready, though they stored our bags until it was. When we got in, there was a strong musky, sweaty smell. We had a full day ahead, so we tried to look past it. After showering and putting on perfume, we couldn't smell it anymore. The pool service was slower than expected, and food was left on the dirty pool deck. The AC barely cooled the room, so we had to set it all the way down to 64 to get it a bit cooler. I'd consider giving them another chance, but not for the $600 we paid. A discount would've felt fair, especially after getting a smelly room.

Dinner at the Greek restaurant was a standout, with fresh, flavorful food, lovely presentation, and excellent service in a great atmosphere. We also loved the room at The Tampa EDITION. It was modern, clean, beautifully designed, and felt properly luxurious, with every detail seeming well considered. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. For a classy stay and a very good dinner in Tampa, this is one of the best spots. We'd happily return.

We were welcomed with champagne, and the warm, professional staff kept making us feel cared for throughout our first stay. The location is excellent, and we liked the hotel's understated, simple luxury. Although we didn't get a suite upgrade, our standard room was more spacious than expected, comfortable, and beautifully thought out. It was a shame the Michelin-starred restaurant wasn't open while we were there, but that didn't spoil the stay. We're locals and proud to have a hotel of this caliber in our city. We've stayed at other Edition properties in New York City and Miami, and this one has been our favorite so far. We'll be back.
