The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, and when we arrived the host had even baked cookies for us. The kitchen had the utensils we needed, plus coffee and snacks. The house was charming and unusual, full of artwork and antiques that kept me taking pictures. It was spotless and comfortable, with all the necessities taken care of. The neighborhood was pretty and felt safe, and the location was convenient. This was the best lodging experience I’ve ever had. If I come back to Chicago, I’ll stay here again.
Wicker Park has a charming, slightly hipster and yuppie feel, with bars, galleries, and fun shops close by. Our room came with garage parking, which was a major plus. The rooms were clean and simple, breakfast was good, and the owner’s artwork was neat. With the price too, it’s an amazing B&B and an easy five stars. We’ll be back next time we’re in Chicago.
The House of Two Urns is handy for getting around, with public transit and cabs available for reaching anywhere in the city. Parking and wifi for guests are free. We enjoyed meeting the people in the neighboring rooms in the shared sitting area in the evening. The rooms are beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, and each set shares a sitting room and a well-stocked kitchen. Ours had coffee, cream, tea, popcorn, china, utensils, pots, and pans. We didn't cook, since there are so many good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh-baked muffins, homemade preserves, and a different gourmet dish each morning: Apple Pandora (French toast), blueberry waffles with homemade blueberry syrup, and zucchini cheese frittata. For what you pay, the service and amenities are exceptional. I hope we can return, maybe even plan another Chicago trip to spend more time at the House of Two Urns.
I've stayed at the House of Two Urns three times over the past couple of years, and the quality of both the property and service has been consistently high. Kapra and the staff are friendly and happy to accommodate what you need. The common spaces are immaculate and attractive, with tasteful antiques and artwork. I always book das Porzellanzimmer. It's small but comfortable for one or two people, with a private bathroom across the hall. The house is wonderfully quiet, so you can almost forget there are other guests, though breakfast gives you a chance to meet people from around the country and beyond. Breakfast is always tasty and satisfying. The B&B is only two and a half blocks from the Division stop on the Blue Line, near Wicker Park, making it easy to get around Chicago. I highly recommend it as a relaxing place to stay.
After five years at our other B&B, we tried Two Urns when our usual place was booked. It’s become our go-to now. We had the King's room, which was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. Great location too. Thanks for a lovely stay, we can’t wait to return.
