Best Western Grant Park Hotel

The museum location made this a great spot for a weekend away. We had a lovely view of the park and Field Museum, and there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment nearby. Check-in was easy. They charge to park your car, but you can take it out as often as you need. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was good, and breakfast was included and decent.

For what we paid, I couldn't have found anything better. The room was spacious and the beds really comfortable. There's no breakfast, but you can get tea and coffee in the lobby, and the bakery in the same building gives hotel guests a 10% discount. The staff were kind and helpful. I'd come back.

The location is great, but the room had sticky carpet and the cleanliness was below par, maybe because they were short staffed. Used towels sat on the hallway carpet from one afternoon until the next morning. There was also a broken bathroom light fixture. They suggested moving rooms, but first said none had a king bed, then said they had several. There's a lot of street noise, and you can hear the other rooms through the bathroom vents. You get what you pay for.

We visited over MLK weekend and stayed in room 504. I'd put it closer to 4.5 stars. The location was excellent: we walked to the planetarium, aquarium, and Cloud Gate, and only took an Uber to 360Chicago and Navy Pier. Staff were professional and courteous throughout, from check-in to the other shifts, and greeted us whenever we came through the lobby. We were also able to check in early, even though we arrived ahead of schedule. The mattress could use an upgrade. Breakfast isn't included, but they offer discounts at a couple of local restaurants. I'd definitely stay again on another visit.
