Capital O Empire Motel Chicago I-94

The location is the one good thing. I reserved online, but what I saw in person was the complete opposite of the listing. They say the rooms are fully renovated, which just isn’t true. They showed me a smelly room with broken light fixtures hanging off the wall, so I asked them to cancel. They took $300 from me anyway, and I’ve spent more than 24 hours on the phone trying to get back money that should never have been taken. If you want to feel disrespected, followed, and ripped off, go here!

This place is closed down. I’m giving it two stars because it had indoor parking. Apart from that, the place and the people were awful. It was overpriced, dirty, and they didn’t fix broken things. There were nosy people outside at all hours of the night. I stayed about 30 minutes, then left without getting a refund.

There were roaches, so I tried to get a refund through the third party. They called the property, but the staff denied the roaches and said the room was clean. I had to drive all the way back to take a photo. The place hadn’t been updated at all.

Man, this place feels sketchy, but it’ll do if you just need a no-tell motel. The local residents are pretty friendly, too. And if you arrive alone, you probably won’t stay that way for long. Plenty of options, if you know what I mean.
