Comfort Suites Michigan Avenue Loop

It was a pretty solid deal, and I enjoyed my stay. The suite was large, clean, and everything worked. My floor had only a few rooms, and between that and being high up, it was pretty quiet. The location is great for the park and riverwalk area. My room card didn’t work once, but they fixed it right away. The free breakfast was nothing special, though I wasn’t expecting much.

We had room 2602 on the top floor, a two-bedroom, and it was amazing. The hotel has a great view and spacious accommodations, with a fully furnished kitchen and all the appliances and utensils, plus a living room and a private reading nook. Service was good, and the complimentary breakfast was good too. Parking was my only complaint. There’s no valet and no curbside pickup or drop-off. We parked in a garage about 2.5 blocks away, which wasn’t ideal with all our luggage and 3 kids at 9 at night. The location is right on the Michigan Ave strip, so everything is convenient. I’d highly recommend it.

The building feels cozy and works well, even if the hotel and rooms look a bit old. Breakfast was good and the amenities were nice. Around breakfast time, the elevators took a while to reach our floor. Self-parking costs $48 dollars and valet is $57. As a tourist who’d already paid for a rental car, plane tickets, and tour passes, those parking prices felt demanding. Despite that, it’s a great place to stay.

The staff were helpful, and the bedding was great and clean. The bathroom was very clean too. I also liked the lemon water in the lobby, and the FREE breakfast had lots of choices. I gave the hotel 4 stars because it needs some updates. The oven and stove are extremely outdated, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you plan to cook much. The microwave isn’t great either. The refrigerator, though, is awesome. It kept the ice in my drink frozen and the drink itself unfrozen for 12 hours. Still confused about that!
