Cozy 2 Bed Home by West Loop With Parking Laundry

Parking was probably the biggest headache. The hotel said it had parking, but it seemed to sell out right away. Street parking nearby is fairly easy and free, or there's a garage next door for around $37 a night. Just check the signs about overnight parking on Saturdays. I wouldn't call this a fancy hotel. It's very average, with older, scuffed rooms that have been redone enough to look upscale. The check-in area was a little dirty but looked nice. The bed was comfortable, though the AC made the room a bit damp. Staff were pleasant enough and got things done, but weren't especially friendly. The grab-and-go breakfast was pretty bad, though free Belvita cookies and oatmeal were okay. We had plumbing trouble, but it was fixed fairly quickly. I had a very good stay and it was a nice place to sleep after a busy day. It's not top of the line, and some people may find it a bit far from the fun areas, but the price was great.

The location was handy for getting to a game at the united center. I knew the rooms would be small, but mine stayed warm all night even after I adjusted the thermostat. The parking lot is small, so it would fill up fast on a busy night.

The staff member who checked us in was friendly and gave us useful information about the area. The bathroom had been updated, though there was some wear in the corners and on the walls. The main hall floors were pretty dirty and need updating. The rooms are smaller than a typical hotel room, and the queen bed felt more like a full, but it was still comfortable. With more than two people, the room would be too cramped. My husband and I kept having to shift aside to walk past each other. We'd book again if it was just the two of us and we were in the area. Definitely worth checking out.

The room was decent for what I paid, with a full-size fridge, microwave, and a bathroom with a frosted window. The walk-in shower came stocked with soap and shampoo, and there were plenty of towels. Staff were nice at both check-in and checkout. There's a small fee-based parking lot, plus a small grab-and-go breakfast and free coffee. I didn't sleep well because the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Morning light came through the bright bathroom window, so close the bathroom door at night if your room has one. The rooms weren't quiet, either. I could hear people walking and cleaning in the morning, hallway sounds, and quite a bit of street noise. The hotel is very close to the United Center, the medical campus, and public transit.
