The LaSalle Chicago, Autograph Collection by Marriott

A great stay, and I’d definitely come back. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently placed within walking distance of many Chicago business locations. There are two other Marriott properties around the corner, but I liked the ambiance here better. One thing to know is that you have to take the elevator up to reception.

For $250 a night, this felt like a surprisingly affordable stay for the quality and location. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice atmosphere, and the hotel itself felt unique and sheek. They have car service on Fridays and Saturdays. We didn’t use it, but thought it was a nice touch. The restaurant seemed solid, and when room service brought us the wrong meal, they replaced it without charging us. If you need to stay in this part of Chicago, it’s a good bet.

The beds were among the more comfortable ones I’ve had in a hotel, and everything was very clean with lovely decor. The lobby and check-in were confusing, since reception is on the 21st floor and there’s another hotel on the lower levels. It was a bummer that museums and shopping were a bit too far to walk to. I also didn’t realize online that the restaurant has a kids’ menu, but it does.

The staff were friendly from arrival right through to when we left, and they made our Thanksgiving stay feel special. The rooms were spotless and spacious, with a real luxury feel. The bathroom and shower were among the nicest I can remember, and the huge TVs and very comfortable beds were great too. This is the kind of stay that sticks with you and makes you think of where to stay next time you’re in the city.
