Hampton Inn Chicago West Loop Fulton Market Area

We chose this place for my husband’s business trip because it was close to his meeting. Our stay was short, but we were very happy with the location, the comfort, and the staff. The front desk team, security, and parking attendants were all friendly and welcoming. We plan to make this Hampton Inn our regular place when we return.

The rooms were clean and lovely, with no issues, and the cleaners were fantastic. In the room there’s a fridge, safe, iron and ironing board; the bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and hand soap. That was useful since I don’t like traveling with lots of toiletries. There’s no vending machine, just a small shop with snacks and drinks. I would have preferred a fountain soda station to the tap drinks they had. Getting around inside the hotel was confusing. There are two separate elevators, and the signs are hard to follow, especially around corners and on different floors. The breakfast seating is far too small for the size of the hotel, so people bump into each other and it can be hard to find a seat. The front desk is cashless, so I couldn’t break a twenty for a tip at a tourist attraction. I also tried to get contactless check-in with a digital key, but still had to go to the desk to sign and register my card, even though I’d prepaid. There was also a $75 daily incidental hold, refunded at checkout. The location is decent, and especially convenient if you want to be near Union Station and Canal, but major downtown attractions are about a 1.5-mile walk. I paid extra for a sky view, but even from the 24th floor I could only see a few buildings. Prices also went up to eight times the normal rate for events like the marathon. I’m not sure I’d stay again, given the walk and confusing layout.

We were allowed to check in an hour early, which was a big help with our bags. We also needed extra body wash, and housekeeping brought it right up. The front desk and housekeeping teams were great. Breakfast was excellent. The staff worked hard to keep everything clean and stocked, and it showed. We had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn Chicago West Loop and will definitely return. A special thank you to the man in the parking garage. He explained everything clearly, helped us get parked, and was incredibly kind. We even stopped to say goodbye. His warmth and hard work deserve recognition.

The breakfast was so good, especially the blueberry scones and sausage. Our room was really clean and had an incredible view, and the desk staff were wonderful. I wish I’d caught the name of the man working Thursday and Friday. The text said Johnny, but I’m not sure that was his name. He made our stay. Everything felt clean, and it’s easy to walk everywhere. I’m staying here again. Incredible!
