Holiday Inn Chicago O'Hare Area by IHG

The hotel lobby bar, "Bar Louie," was a fun surprise, and dinner there was delicious. The wait staff worked hard and were attentive. Stephanie ran the breakfast buffet and made a big difference with her friendly manner. Everyone at the hotel was extremely nice. This park and fly stay worked perfectly for me, and I'd come back.

I'm a flight crew commuter and IHG platinum member, and I stay here pretty often. They always treat me well. The van driver greets me like a familiar face, and Allison at the front desk even remembers my name. The location makes it easy to get to the Cumberland L stop for a trip into the city, and I like having a microwave in every room. Some fixtures feel dated and could use an update, but the service keeps me coming back.

I've stayed here a few times or more, and the rooms and hallways can be hit or miss. Some rooms are better than others, and hallway cleanliness varies. The water pressure isn't great, though the water is hot. Parking is handy for airport trips, and the location and usually reasonable prices are why I keep returning. One of the staff, a smaller Spanish girl, was really helpful and nice. Another, a tall black lady, was less pleasant and had an attitude when answering questions, even to her coworker.

I needed somewhere cheaper for an overnight stay while waiting for a convention the next day. The rooms were dated but in decent shape, and after a sleepless night and flight, they let us check in at 10am. That excellent service meant I could finally get some much needed sleep. The location was awful, though. The CTA station is nearby, but getting there means crossing a very busy road and walking along the pavement to reach it. It had snowed, and nothing had been plowed, shoveled, or salted.
