Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown

The location was great, with Millennial Park just around the corner, and the staff I met were always nice, friendly or professional. I liked the hotel and it was very quiet, which I really appreciated. I enjoyed breakfast, though the TVs at the tables were a bit irritating. A coffee maker in the room would have been smashing, but the coffee in the lobby was shockingly good. I really didn’t expect that.

Beverly and the rest of the team made the hotel feel welcoming and personal. Enrique was especially professional and helped make our first visit to Chicago unforgettable. When there was a billing discrepancy, some sort of hiccup between Expedia and the hotel, Victor addressed it promptly and resolved it to our satisfaction. The building is historic, with a thoughtful mix of modern comfort and classic design. The location is ideal too, just a short walk from the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park.

Our first trip to Chicago went really well, and we loved staying here. The room was spacious and had a fridge, coffee maker, drawers and a desk, which came in handy for saving leftovers. We could get to Millennium Park, Target, restaurants and other hot spots without going far from the hotel, so we got to see new places nearby.

The staff were exceptional. The young white concierge girl was so caring and thoughtful toward me and my mother, who arrived before check-in. She helped make sure we could stay safe and warm. The valet guy was very friendly too, and our waitress was nice when we ate at the bar. The food was bomb. The building is undergoing some renovations, but I’d highly recommend a stay. The Silversmith is downtown and well placed for nighttime activities, just 10mn, even 5mn, walking distance from the illusion museum and many restaurants. I’m not a city person, which is the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars. I’ll definitely return.
