We found Willows when a reservation elsewhere fell through and needed a place quickly. We've now stayed there on three trips to the city, and keep coming back because the rooms are spacious, the service is good, and the price is reasonable for the location. So many restaurants are walkable, and we've walked to the theatre and to a nearby poetry reciting. There's no breakfast at the hotel, but plenty of places nearby, and coffee is available at reception. It's an older building with its quirks, which I think is part of the charm. The location really is perfect.

The location was good, but the noise made it impossible to rest after a long day walking around the city. We could hear every step in the room above us through the thin walls, and the creaking floors kept us awake all night. Padded carpet or something similar could help. Sleep is the least I expect from a hotel, and we didn't get it here. I wouldn't stay again.

The Willows had the quiet, comfortable rooms and affordable price I wanted after a long week. Parking across the street was a big help and made coming and going easy. My sister especially loved the hotel's unusual spooky, creepy vibe. I'm not sure it's for everyone, but we thought it was great. We had a good time and would stay again. If you're after a quirky, off-the-beaten-path Chicago hotel, this might suit you.

I like that this is a more historical property, and it's kept up well. The neighborhood is quiet but close to restaurants and other things. Both the hotel and room were clean, and all the staff were friendly. Some reviews complain that it's not luxury, but Willows is upfront about its amenities, and prices are lower than at many nearby hotels. The minibar prices were reasonable, and there's free coffee in the morning. I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Chicago.
