Days Inn Chiefland

The staff were friendly, and the room was clean. We slept well, too. The hotel is clearly old and needs a lot of repairs, but the rate was good, so it worked out as an inexpensive place for the night. We skipped breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. We hadn’t booked ahead, and it was late. Since we still had another 40 miles to drive, I called Windham after checking the app to make sure a room was available before we committed. The woman who answered was very nice and booked it for us. There are plenty of things that need fixing, but if you mainly want cleanliness and a decent night’s sleep for a low price, it’s a good deal.

I’m sad to say I won’t stay here again. It used to be a nice place, but it’s gone downhill and needs better management. The bed was broken and sagged into a U shape, while the chair was filthy and the bedspread had huge stains. It definitely didn’t look washed. On top of that, the pool made a loud noise every few hours all night.

I booked three nights but could only put up with one. The room smelled strongly of mold or urine, wasn’t clean, and the bed was very uncomfortable. The hot tub was out of order and couldn’t be used.

That furniture needs a serious steam cleaning, or replacing altogether. The footrest and chair were so black with dirt I wouldn’t even let my dog sit on them. The price is nowhere near a match for the quality.
