Best Western Adena Inn

The second night went much better: staff moved us to a nicer room, and we had no trouble there. They were very apologetic and the replacement room felt more suited to what we paid, though I was disappointed that the trip's most expensive hotel made basic cleanliness such a gamble. Our first room smelled like a public restroom, especially the bathroom, which reeked of sewer and mildew. It didn't look properly cleaned either. It sounded as if staff had raised concerns about that same room before without being taken seriously, so I'm not sure our complaint will change anything. I do appreciate the staff trying to make it right.

The location was handy, close to shops and restaurants, and breakfast had a pretty good mix of hot and cold choices. Our bed was comfortable. The room had a musty smell and was as clean as it could be, though it could use some updating.

The bed and pillows made for a rough night. The mattress was hard, and the pillows flattened so much that our heads sank right through to the bed, with no support at all. Even so, everything else was really good. Best Western is one of my three usual hotel choices when I travel, and this one met the usual expectations for cleanliness, friendly staff, and a well-stocked breakfast. I'd still recommend it, but if you get room 114, you might want to bring your own pillow.

The staff were all wonderful, and the service was amazing. The room was clean and my two-day stay during the bad weather was nice and comfortable. Thanks, guys and gals.
