The property was clean and well kept, and we had a great weekend riding around in the golf cart and trick-or-treating. The jumping pillow was a huge hit with the kids. My only complaint is that it was usually late in the morning before they inflated it, so there'd be a huge group waiting at the gate to jump every day. We'll definitely be back.

We arrived for our April 19, 2026 reservation, checked in, drove to our RV site, and left right away. The whole campground was in terrible shape, even though the season was only a couple of weeks away. The RV sites were cramped, mostly dirt with almost no gravel, and badly uneven. The roads were just as poor. The cabins badly needed exterior paint and some wood repairs, and the glamping tents were open to the elements with visible mold on the canvas. There were many long-term or full-time RVers. I have no issue with people staying that way, and have often found them kind and a useful source of local information, but many here seemed surrounded by trash pits. Are the regulations not enforced? We've stayed at other Jellystone locations around the country and found them quite nice. This Chincoteague Island location shouldn't be part of the Jellystone family. Yogi Bear should be ashamed. This place is a dump.

The campground was overcrowded this time, unlike the much nicer stays we've had here before. We booked a yurt, but the pricing wasn't clear, and it felt like they were packing in as many people as possible to make money at our expense. Our yurt was beside the bathhouse, whose septic system was full. Raw sewage ran past our camp, and the honey wagon had to pump it out three or four times a day. We complained to management and got a simple “we are aware of it” in reply.

We come to Jellystone Park on Chincoteague Island every year and love it. The sites are a nice size, and there's lots of room to walk the dogs. It's close to town, the beach, and the national park. The staff are accommodating, and they even sell alcohol in the gift shop. The water park's lazy river with a frozen drink is a fun way to spend time after a morning at the beach. It's a fantastic place, with plenty of fun for adults too.

We came for the week of 5/31 to 6/7, but the waterpark wasn't open for the kids. The Sunoutdoors website didn't say the pool and water slide area would be closed that week. I have two kids and four grandkids, and they weren't happy. We won't return. This was a very different experience from the one we had at the Luray location.
