Rodeway Inn

The bed was okay, and I didn't see any obvious bugs or dirt on the sheets when I checked. Beyond that, it was a pretty rough stay. There was no hot water, and the heat couldn't keep up on a cold night, so we were freezing. The bathroom felt dated and uncomfortable. For what the room was, it cost too much; we've paid around $20 for a similar one, and the next night we spent less for a much better room.

I've stayed at a lot of Rodeways over the years and have always been satisfied. What makes me suspicious is this week's review starting with "Do NOT stay here! This hotel is gross!" and another from 11 months ago that somehow used exactly the same wording, right down to the line about the wallpaper. Hmm. That's the trouble with review sites. Someone with an agenda can post something true, made up, or outright slanderous without worrying about consequences.

WiFi was available, at least. But I paid far too much for a room with just one towel and no shampoo or conditioner. Parts of it were falling apart too: half the outlets didn't work, a chair was broken, and the room had a stale smell.

It's a friendly, family-run place, and the room was clean. There aren't any frills, but the price is great. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
