Chugach Naswik Suites

I loved the room's mountain view. It was spotless, comfortable, and just like the website pictures. The keyless entry worked without a hitch, and being right in the heart of Valdez with food nearby was great. I gave service a 4 because after 10 PM, I messaged with a question about the blinds and got a phone number to call. I wasn't comfortable calling so late, but eventually figured them out. A manual, or labels explaining the different utility switches, would be helpful.

After more than a month here, this is easily my go-to in Valdez. The location is wonderful, and the harbor view from my third-floor room was a great way to unwind after long workdays. I've never had this level of hospitality anywhere. I came to Valdez for work and was lucky to get rooms here for myself and my crew. They were cleaned thoroughly every day. At the front desk, “The Gia” and the always-bubbly “Isabelaaaa” greeted me so warmly that I looked forward to their shifts. General Manager “Sam” personally handled changes to our constantly shifting work schedules, including billing adjustments and unexpected flight changes. I got to know Sam and the team, and their care and professionalism never slipped. During one medical emergency, I had to swap a departing employee for someone arriving on short notice. Sam, Laura, and Kadence immediately cleaned and prepared the room and changed the bookings, making a potentially stressful situation feel seamless.

Modern and the best hotel in town. It worked for what we needed. For management, please add pans for the oven. We had one in the room but nothing suitable to put in it, so we heated food in some random mixing bowls. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

As a shareholder of Chugach Alaska Corporation, one of the Native corporations that owns this hotel, I felt proud staying at Chugach Naswik Suites. The hotel is a meaningful investment in Valdez and a lasting contribution to a place with deep ancestral significance for Chugach shareholders. The stay itself was extraordinary. From arrival onward, service, comfort, and attention to detail were impeccable. The property has breathtaking views and an elegant, modern design. I'll definitely return, and I'd encourage others to experience Naswik for the scenery, the high level of service, and its cultural and historical ties to the area.
