I’m a tent camper and chose this place because I wanted somewhere close to San Diego. It’s a good fit if you’re after a resort-style stay in an RV or tent, with lots to do and tourist spots nearby. The pool is huge, the café food is good, and they serve alcoholic drinks. There are seasonal activities, basketball, volleyball, and playgrounds. I enjoyed my stay, but the tent sites are small and close to the RV parking lots. The highway runs alongside the grounds, so traffic goes on through the night, and city lights make stargazing impossible. I prefer camping somewhere more natural and outdoorsy, which I didn’t get here. Still, it’s very nice, and I’d probably return when I want that resort kind of experience.

We stayed in a deluxe poolside cabin and had a great time at the KOA. It came with dishes and pots, though the gas stove was finicky and the microwave only worked some of the time. Staff were responsive and tried to help. The pool was cold in February, but the kids swam anyway, and we were glad to have the hot tub. The campground bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept. We also enjoyed renting the fun family bikes, though we wished the jumping pillows stayed open longer. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We’ll visit again!

The food place was really good and fairly priced, and the amenities overall were great. Staff were very friendly and helpful, including with suggestions on where to eat around town. The sites felt tight but were manageable. At night it could get pretty wild, with kids biking, making noise, and using the basketball court until midnight. Staff were strict about certain rules at the bounce thing, while the pool felt like the Wild West with young teenagers. I ended up telling some off for roughhousing near little kids. You’re camping in a densely populated area, so I think complaints about hearing the freeway are unfair. That’s part of camping right in San Diego.

Al was fantastic with our reservation and making sure our needs were taken care of. Everyone at the park was friendly and helpful, and the place was clean and beautiful in a great location. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in San Diego. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Keep an eye on your belongings here. We loved the park, its activities for kids, and the clean bathrooms, but two brand new bikes were stolen while we were onsite in our fifth wheel, even though they were secured with cables and bike locks. I checked the homeless camps and went to the swap meet, both within a mile or two of the KOA, hoping to find them, but no luck. Don’t leave anything outside.
