The town is beautiful, but that room was cold all night. It was 50 degrees when I arrived, and I couldn’t set the thermostat above 67. It never felt like it got anywhere near that, even though that’s what the thermostat showed. With the thin blanket and comforters, I woke up shivering in the middle of the night and had to get my winter sleeping bag from my van to make it through. I’d planned to sleep until the 10 am checkout, which is too early for me anyway. Instead, I’m leaving at 7 am because at least my van has heat. I can put up with a bug or two, and I don’t care that the TV is the smallest I’ve seen in a motel room in a decade. The heater is loud, but I wouldn’t mind that if it actually warmed the room. When you need a place in mid-January, you expect to be comfortable, and I never was here. You should be able to set the heat into the mid-70s or even higher with walls this thin. You can feel the cold coming through the outside wall. Just terrible, really.

The check-in had a hiccup, but it wasn’t the hikers’ fault or mine. They sorted it out smoothly and successfully, and were really kind and understanding. We didn’t spend much time in the room, but it was clean and pretty spacious. Having a coffee pot was great so we could have a cup before an early start. Thanks for having us!

We rented three rooms at Hikers Cimarron Inn and RV Park, and all were very clean and spacious. The host was welcoming and helpful, and the stay far exceeded what we expected. I’m glad we picked this inn and would highly recommend it if you need somewhere to stay in the area. There’s also a coffee shop nearby.

After flooding forced us to cancel a reservation at another campsite, we called late on a Saturday evening looking for a site. The owner was helpful and informative, and made sure we were taken care of. The location was convenient for day trips into Cimmaron Canyon and Eagles Nest.

It was a grassy lot rather than a traditional campground in the woods among other tent campers, but it worked well for our weekend trip. There was plenty of flat ground for tents. At the last minute, though, we put our mats in the back of our SUV instead. We slept well, and the bathrooms were clean and easy to get to. We came to Cimarron to pick up our son after his trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, and the campground’s location couldn’t have been more convenient. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. I’m happy we chose to stay here.
