DoubleTree by Hilton Claremont

The room itself was nothing fancy, just a room, but the employees and restaurant made this one of the best places I’ve stayed. I travel about every week and usually stay only at Hilton properties. The hotel restaurant served probably the best food I’ve had at a hotel, and I never left the property for dinner. Everyone on staff was friendly, fun, and entertaining, especially the three guys bartending Thursday night.

We were there for a baby shower, and it was a nice space. Staff were attentive, refilling drinks and clearing used plates, and the shared bathrooms were conveniently just down the hall. My only concern is that they might want to wait until the guests have left before taking down the room setup. Thank you!

I’m not familiar with the area, but the hotel seemed a bit far from anything else. It’s not a town I’m in a hurry to revisit, though if I do return, I’d definitely stay here again. The grounds are beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were good. The restaurant’s breakfast was really good, with fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, an omelette bar, good coffee, and orange juice.

When we arrived at 1 a.m. for my high school reunion stay in October, the Doubletree gave us someone else’s reservation: a very small room with two double beds instead of the larger king room I’d booked a month ahead. My reservation was for three nights, but the room we got was booked for only two. On the third day, after returning to room 2221, we were locked out and then charged for that third night, even though I’d already paid for all three. I’ve tried several times to reach the manager and gotten no response. This place is a rip-off with no customer service. Beware!
