Motel 6 Claremore

It’s in a convenient spot, but this is a truck stop motel, so that part wasn’t a surprise. We felt a little uneasy, and I wouldn’t suggest it for women or young people traveling alone. Service was fine, though we didn’t need anything. The room felt damp and musty, and the carpet wasn’t clean. The bathroom was ordinary but clean, and the fridge, TV, and AC all worked. It’s okay on a tight budget, but I’d choose somewhere else if you can.

We had to make the bed ourselves, and when we stripped it we found blood on the sheets. Later, housekeeping woke us up asking for the previous guests’ belongings, which made it clear the room hadn’t been cleaned. It was a horrible stay, and rooms need to be cleaned before guests are sent in. I’m still waiting to hear from management, and we’ll never use this motel again. Getting the key took about ten minutes because the key machine wasn’t working. The room smelled when we got in, too.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, and it definitely wasn’t the best before. This visit, I was warned they were short on housekeepers, so I expected a rough room. It turned out clean, stocked, and even smelled nice. The building’s still ugly as hell, but the housekeeper clearly put in the effort. She and the woman at the front desk were both really pleasant.

The room was worn down, with cracked walls, scuffed furniture, a falling-apart lampshade, and sheets worn through in places. The walls are so thin you can hear everything the neighbors are doing. It smelled strongly of smoke despite being a non-smoking room, and I found bloodstains and suspicious marks on the towels. Check the bedding. Aside from the bedding and towels, it was moderately clean. They’re renovating, so hopefully the rooms get updated too. I’ve stayed in nicer places for less than the $90 I paid for a Wednesday night. I left at 8:30 p.m. after finding the stains and was refused a refund. Some staff were nice, but the people at the desk didn’t seem to care when I showed them.
